IHRO 2010, ein Klassiker stellt sich neuen Herausforderungen
Mick Nash de Villiers - Winner of IHRO Championship 2009, will drive the factory - Paton exclusively
Founded by Alan Cathcart, the International Historic Racing Organization is always anxious to bring classic Grand Prix machines and their replicas built up to 1972 in the class to 350 and 500 cc at selected classical motorsport events in Europe in active competition, namly in the races in its original meaning inclined to present the audience. In Germany, this unique racing series has seen in over a decade at the Classic Grand Prix, and only on the Schleizer Dreieck, and is always the highlight of these events. For some years there are slight changes, such as a sub competition uo to 250 cc in the IHRO 350class as well as the opening to 2 cylinder – 4 stroke engines in the class up to 500 cc, this is also thanks to the presence of the Italian traditional brand Paton. A replica built like Giuseppe Pattonis Grand Prix machine from 1968. Roberto Pattoni, son of the brilliant constructer, builded since some years a replica painted in bright green again. In 2009, the IHRO made also in the first time an appreciation over all events and Roberto Pattoni provides to the first winner of this internal IHRO Championship for a race weekend in 2010, a Paton BIC 500 8v RU 1968. At this championship by the Paton in 2009 only IHRO members could participate wich are owners of their racing machine, no motorcycles with other owner than the respective rider. Roberto Pattoni went under instruction of the IHRO manager Graham Boothby in 2009, to the AMC Classic Grand Prix and was very impressed about the atmosphere, the organization and the racing character of all the two-and three-wheeler classes, so impressed that he decided for the Classic Grand Prix 2010 on the Schleizer Dreieck, that Mick Nash de Villers winner of the 2009 IHRO competition will drive these "factory-backed" Paton BIC 500 8v RU 1968 at the Classic Grand Prix on the Schleizer Dreieck in 2010.
